1.Open Type Cooling Tower+Pool |
The main raw materials for the open cooling tower is glass and plastic filler which is cheap and practical, it has been widely used in various industries and fields from the birth, especially in chemical engineering. However, with social progress, the drawbacks expose gradually:
1) Need larger pools and larger area , the installation is not convenient,water loss ,furring, line clogging, etc.;
2) There are limitations in its application .If it is used for some chemical precision equipment,the equipment will be burned because the water temperature is too high.
An Open type cools down the circulation water by contacting it to the atmosphere directly . As a result of air pollution,producing synthetic ammonia, furring, sludge and the like,so that cooling performance has been gradually weakened,and cause failure.
2.Open Cooling Towers + Plate Exchanger + Pump |
Principle: Technology medium transmit heat to the cooling water through the heat exchanger,An Open type cools down the circulation water by contacting it to the atmosphere directly.Then returned the cooling water to heat exchanger, so the cycle.
This method need more than 1.25 times as much cooling water as technology medium. so the pump power is also increased.
The system is complicated , consist of the heat exchanger, pumping stations, cooling towers, pools, auxiliary (such as valves, connecting tube, etc.). larger area, higher installation and running costs and more maintenance work., the pressure resistance of Plate exchanger is low, easy-leak, blockage, and need to replace the sealing tape regularly.
This cooling method must have temperature difference, Currently theory heat loss of the best heat exchanger is more than 5%, but the price more expensive and difficult to achieve optimum efficiency. General heat exchangers’ thermal losses is 10%-50%, and determine by the allocation.
The system must have a filter to prevent water degradagion, when the equipment is running, such as filter blockage, then the power system must be shut down until the filter is clean; but plate heat exchanger is not easy to cleanfor structurally complex, the high failure rate on using.
3.Air Cooler |
Principle: Heat transmits form technology medium to outside air through finned tube,hot air is drawed off by the fan.,at the same time cold air enter, so the cycle.
Advantages: no cooling water, Low running costs , especially suitable for dry areas.
Shortcomings: One of second sexes invest big, In summer, not able to cool media to 48 ℃ below .(Generally this way is better to cool to 50 ℃ or above), Freezing protection is poor in the North.
4. Closed Cooling Tower (Evaporative Cooler) |
Principle: Closed type cooling tower is a kind of heat-exchangers to cool down heat medium such as water by contacting it to the atmosphere indirectly. There are two independent sources of water used for the type cooling tower . Inner circulating water never contacts ambient air while spray water runs down through filling. Due to this fact, water quality control made simple.its effect of heat transfer is superior to air cooler.
The cooling method have a smalle floor space, good cooling effect,low-cost installation and running, easy maintenance, simple maintenance.
Such as terminals for freezing machine,to connect coil tube of cooling towers and heat exchanger together to form a closed circulatory system, and to prevent the sulfur gases, dust, microorganisms.and freezing machine will not form scum, eliminating the cleaning and maintenance of the freezing machine,so save electricity, grow operational life.
